Freedom to exercise a profession and to run a business Mer
The Swedish Constitution requires that any rule or decision that limits the freedom to start and run a business or to exercise a profession have to be based on pressing public interests. Yet, businesses are victim of arbitrary decisions by public authorities. Qualified professionals are prevented from exercising their profession by, among others, trade organisations that decide on licences.
Moreover, municipalities are prohibited to drive private enterprises out of business through unfair competition. Yet, ski rentals, restaurants or car washes are systematically victims of illegal competition – and companies owned by municipalities make billions in illegal profits.
Centrum för rättvisa supports individuals to stand up for their rights and makes sure that municipalities, authorities and trade organisation respect the law.
